“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.” ~ Pablo Picasso

During the COVID19 pandemic, I have taken up drawing as a daily practice – 15 minutes (often longer) after breakfast. I was drawn to this new art mostly because I realize that photography has improved my eye and that drawing would further improve my mindful attention to visual details.

First, I found Journal with Purpose, a book teaching how to sketch simple objects to enhance one’s journaling.  Second, I dug out my mandala colouring book and began to copy and create mandalas. This necessitated obtaining a high school geometry set with compasses and a protractor.  Third, after a few months, I began to copy and create Zentangle patterns.
